Based on the construction of the popular Tendril, the burly 11.5mm Scion has a 24 strand polyester cover and double braid construction. Specifically engineered with the decreased elongation for efficiency at working loads and still able to absorb dynamic forces, the scion is a purpose built climbing line. With a tight durable sheath the scion has balanced handling and is readily compatible with mechanical devices and hardware. The Scion is hand spliceable. Weighs 6.1 pounds per 100 feet. Elongation is 4% at 300lbs.
